Aside from sending smoke signals, words are probably the most direct and effective way to get our point across. But how we use words to tell someone something can often be as important as what we’re actually trying to tell them.

A 90-second crash course on how I became a fabulous writer....
(Don’t worry. I skipped the parts in elementary school when I honed my writing skills through the time-honored tradition of passing notes.)
Basically—I was born with a love of writing. The end.
(Totally kidding). Becoming a good writer was nowhere near that simple, but I do love writing… and for whatever reason, it just loves me back. We’re like Serena and the tennis ball. Kanye and draw-dropping statements. Peanut butter and jelly. Somehow, we just get each other. No matter where my journey has taken me, writing has always been my sidekick.
Whether I was writing a poem for a poetry slam competition or drafting arguments for a legal brief, I have enjoyed writing in whatever form it’s taken.
I’m an attorney at this stage of my career, but I began my collegiate career in journalism, with a focus on public relations.
Graduating from a journalism school taught me key concepts of writing...
- How to write clear, concise content that resonates
- How to write punchy and entertaining stories that grab busy readers’ attention
- How to edit, edit again, and then edit some more for clean, error-free copy
As a journalism student, I sharpened my writing skills through several amazing writing experiences...
- The New York Times Student Journalism Institute (Summer)
- Named “Best Public Relations Writer” of graduating class by faculty
- Student magazine writer (1 year)
- Student newspaper writer/reporter (3 years)
- Student newspaper deputy copydesk chief (copyediting all content for publication)
My degree was backed up by professional internships where I wrote in a corporate setting...
- Sachs Media Group (fact sheets, press releases, media kits)
- Kidd PR (fact sheets, media alerts, press releases)
- OneBlood (website content, press releases, newsletter & email content)
Even in the boring, stuffy halls of law school, I still found ways to write. Some of those ways included:
- Two years writing on the Administrative Law Review
- Two years teaching writing to first-year law students as a Dean’s Fellow
- One year as judge’s intern drafting error-free legal opinions for the judge’s review
Now, I'm a lawyer who still finds time to write for brands, and I love it!
As an attorney, I focus on producing clear, concise, error-free writing because I understand that errors in legal drafting have dire consequences. This attention to detail in my legal career has helped me deliver great content and continue my love affair with words as a freelance writer.
I produce clean writing that speaks for itself. When I’m writing for publications, editors enjoy working with me because they know I’ll deliver every time. Entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses have pitched me about writing for them because they know that my writing can help them move their brand forward and connect with their customers.
I can write for you too! Let's Connect!
All of my experiences, including my legal, public relations, and journalism backgrounds, create a beautiful trifecta of talent that has allowed me to deliver writing that’s clear, concise, and enjoyable to read.
And while words are the love of my life, on a personal note, I actually do have a life, life. When I’m not writing, I enjoy skating, poetry events, professional African dance, and spending time with loved ones.
Now that you know a little more about me, let’s connect and talk about your needs so that we can see how I can help make your job a little easier.
